William Paterson University SPJ is Campus Chapter of the Year - You Can Help Make the Best Even Better! -

The student chapter at William Paterson University is national SPJ’s “Campus Chapter of the Year”! Not only did the chapter win the most recent award, for 2023, but it also won in 2020.

You can help make the chapter’s next activity even better, by critiquing the resumes of student journalists, at an event to be held at the university on Tuesday, April 16^th at 7 PM. Not only will you meet the students, you will also meet and network with other professional journalists, from both NJ-SPJ and the Deadline Club, which is SPJ’s New York City chapter.

WPSPJ worked with Kenneth Burns, the president of SPJ’s New Jersey Pro chapter and the South Jersey reporter for WHYY in Philadelphia, to organize a tour of the studios on Oct. 27, 2023. Nine WPSPJ members went on a two-hour walkthrough of broadcast facilities for WHYY, WPPT, WLVT, and PBS, where we watched a live broadcast of the WHYY show “The Connection with Marty Moss-Coane” and met Jennifer Lynn, the host and producer of “Morning Edition.”
