Are you a passionate and entrepreneurial online journalist? Want to be part of a dynamic and innovative team of journalists, engineers, designers and business pros who are creating a bold new solution for our industry? Do you think that traditional news media just don’t get it anymore? Would you like to run your own local news Web site, where you'll tap the multimedia and social media skills you've mastered to transform community journalism and connect with communities? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, keep reading…
We’re Patch.com, a start-up that’s radically reinventing community journalism. We launched in February 2009 and we now operate hundreds of local news sites in towns with populations under 70,000, and we continue to expand! Even as many newsrooms have been downsized or shut down, Patch is investing millions to create a nationwide network of news sites using our dynamic platform to produce meaningful daily and enterprise journalism and pioneer new forms of storytelling to serve communities. We have won acclaim in the industry and coverage in The New York Times, Forbes Magazine, Bloomberg, NPR's "Talk of the Nation," "The News Hour with Jim Lehrer," and numerous industry blogs and Web sites. We've recently also announced Patch.org, a new initiative that will allow us to collaborate with local foundations and journalism schools to cover under-served communities.
Patch.com is looking for smart, innovative journalists to join our team as full-time site editors. We see this as nothing less than the future of online journalism. Visit patch.com to learn more about our mission and to visit our news sites.

Organizational Background
Founded in 1980, Centurion Ministries, Inc. (CM) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and an equal opportunity employer with no religious affiliation, located at 221 Witherspoon Street, Princeton, NJ 08542. CM has five full-time employees, 2 part-time, and a backbone of 20 case research and development volunteers. The organization has an annual operating budget consistently in the low seven figures.
The primary purpose of CM is to vindicate and free from prison those indigents who are factually innocent of the crimes for which they have been wrongly convicted and imprisoned for life or death. CM also assists clients, once freed, to re-integrate into society on a self-reliant basis.
In achieving the objective of its work, for each individual case undertaken, CM performs the following functions:
- Conducts a thorough “boots-on-the-ground” street investigation in order to develop the new evidence necessary to overturn the conviction.
- Retains and works hand-in-hand with a wide array of forensic experts and defense attorneys who join CM’s effort to obtain judicial relief for our beneficiaries.
- Raises and disburses whatever funds are required to meet all legal, investigative, and forensic expenses necessary for the successful completion of each case.
Since its founding 30 years ago, CM has freed 44 factually innocent people throughout North America (U.S.A. and Canada) who have served an aggregate 880 years of false imprisonment under sentence of life or death. CM is universally recognized as the pioneer organization in the US and Canada among all others who work to free the convicted innocent.
CM's concurrent caseload at any given time consists of at least 20 cases of those falsely convicted across America. If successful, it usually takes CM 5-20 years of work to free those whom we serve.
